I love making character cakes, there is simply nothing better than seeing the end product, when I’m creating such fun cakes.
There is no better cake to make than a Minion, there’s something about those little yellow men that just puts an instant smile on everyone’s face!
Not only did I have the pleasure of making a minion cake, but I got to make it for my niece Jessica as well, which made it extra special.
Of course I was given specific orders when making this cake, as I had my daughter do some research with Jessica to find out her fav minion and all the details that I should add, to make it the perfect cake for my beautiful niece.
So I was told it had to be ‘Bob’ this was the most important thing! Bob has different coloured eyes, one green and one brown, so of course I couldn’t miss this! Bob has a Teddy bear and Amber informed me that Jessica would notice if he wasn’t carrying it!
Then I had to add my own touches, obviously we were celebrating Jessica’s 6th birthday so Bob had to wear a party hat with her age on and he had to have his own cake with a candle, not only did this cake have to be purple because it’s a fav colour of Jessica’s but if you’ve watched the movie, you’ll know exactly why purple is a significant colour, I won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t watched it, but I would definitely say go watch it now, you’re missing out otherwise!
Seeing my nieces face when she sees the extra special cake I made her is a wonderful thing, I got big kisses and cuddles for that!
